Everything with Walmart Foundation funding is changing. In case you haven’t noticed, the Walmart Foundation has completely changed its Sate Giving Program. No longer can you simply request a grant, you now have to be invited (work on your regional manager who will be instrumental in deciding who gets to play). The other change is that minimum gifts will be $250,000 and will extend for as long as three years. Far fewer gifts will be given – but those that are will have big impact. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Walmart is also changing their store-by-store grants. Each gift can now be as high as $5,000 and you can request funding up to 25 times each year (one request per year for as many as 25 different Walmart, Sam’s or Walmart Regional Market stores). All applications are online – and go to Walmart HQ for initial review. As long as all parts-and-pieces are included, they will then be sent to the local stores for final decisions. And yes, you can use pretty much the same language in each.
